CDB Aviation is a global platform which owns, leases, and manages commercial aircraft. We are wholly-owned by China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co. Ltd, a 30 plus year old leasing company majority owned by China Development Bank and listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX stock code: 1606). Our parent company enjoys the Chinese sovereign credit rating (A+) and is the only leasing arm of China Development Bank.

Peter Chang President and Chief Executive Officer

Peter has been an active member of the aviation community for the past four decades. He started work at Boeing immediately after graduating in 1979 and his vast experience includes manufacturing, sales and leasing. Having long been at the forefront of aviation leasing, he was the first to start aircraft operating leases in China as MD at GPA. He has served as Executive Vice President for companies including Aircastle Advisers and International Leasing Finance Corporation and prior to Joining CDB Aviation he was the Principal for the China Aviation Advisors Group.

Bing Yi Deputy CEO

Bing comes to us from SinoAero Leasing where he served as MD. He has over thirty years’ experience in Aviation and started his career as Assistant Professor at the Air Force institute of meteorology. Since then he has served in senior roles at Wuhan Airlines and at Shenzen Financial Leasing where he was director of the Regional Aviation Centre. Bing also spent three years working for CDB Aviation as Vice General Manager. We are delighted he is back with us as Deputy Chief Executive Officer, as his experience and insight are invaluable.

Rob Murphy Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel

Rob is our Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel, he comes to us from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, a leading international law firm, where he led the global aviation and asset finance team and the global aviation sector group. He has experience in dealing with high-profile acquisitions including AerCap’s $8 billion acquisition of International Lease Finance Corporation from American International Group. Other significant projects have included BOC Aviation’s IPO/Hong Kong listing and the acquisition of a majority stake in Nordic Aviation Capital.

Patrick C. Hannigan Chief Commercial Officer

Patrick is our Chief Commercial Officer with two decades of experience in finance, marketing, sales and P&L oversight. He has been at the top of the airline Leasing sector for many years, including being a founding shareholder of Avolon leasing and served as CEO in their joint venture with Wells Fargo. Patrick served as Senior Vice President, Marketing for RBS Aviation Capital (now SMBC). He also held the role of Vice President Marketing at GE Capital Aviation Services, where he spearheaded the development of the company’s operations in the Middle East and Africa. Patrick has also held executive positions at Diageo, Deloitte and Touche. He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland.

Will Gramolt Chief Financial Officer

Will is our Chief Financial Officer with more than 15 years’ experience in aircraft leasing finance. His skills are wide-ranging and include equity and debt capital raisings, cross-border group structuring and stock market listings. Will has worked in a variety of aircraft leasing companies including Hong Kong Aviation Capital, GAAM, AWAS and BBAM. He has experience in establishing and integrating new departments, systems and processes and of treasury management, budgeting, forecasting and hedging.

Lucas Mollan Chief Technical Officer

Lucas is our Chief Technical Officer and has worked in the Aviation sector for over 30 years. With extensive experience in leasing and operating in multi-national organisations, he has a reputation for taking start-up outfits and making them world-leading. As a member of the Avolon leadership team he was instrumental in taking this start-up lessor to the world’s third largest within seven years. He has turned around a number of under-performing companies and made them profitable, including the rationalization of three varied fleets into one coherent operating fleet within three years.

The Fleet

CDB Aviation offers an aircraft portfolio that includes advanced and fuel efficient aircraft, including Boeing, Airbus and Embraer jets, as well as new generation Boeing 737s Max and Airbus A320 neo family aircraft.
