Title: SVP Transaction Negotiation

Job Information

Reporting to the Head of Transaction Negotiation, the SVP Transaction Negotiation will be responsible for negotiating and documenting contracts relating to aircraft leasing, trading and financing with airline customers, financiers, investors, trading counterparties and other participants in the aviation finance industry. The SVP Transaction Negotiation will be the project manager for the execution of these transactions ensuring that all transaction documents comply with all relevant internal approvals and policies of the company and to project manage the execution of transactions.

  • Manage transactions from LOI to closing
  • Be the lead transaction negotiator for contract negotiations with airline customers, investors, trading counterparties and other participants in the aircraft leasing industry
  • Lead deal teams and coordinate transaction input from CDB Aviation’s Technical, Risk, Finance, Contracts and Commercial teams and external advisors
  • Provide input and expertise in transaction structuring process
  • Ensure all documentation is completed to meet deadlines and in accordance with CDB Aviation standards and guidelines
  • Manage airline defaults, restructurings and aircraft repossessions
  • Appoint and manage external legal counsel in all relevant jurisdictions to ensure smooth and timely execution within agreed budgets
  • Contribute to maintaining industry leading legal templates, processes and procedures
  • Be an integral part of a learning organisation where you will be expected to share knowledge and experience of transactions and legal issues with your colleagues
  • Other responsibilities may be required from time to time, including working on internal and external corporate projects


Skills, Professional Experience, and Education

  • Juris Doctor or law degree and admitted to practice in a suitable jurisdiction
  • Strong understanding of aviation leasing and aircraft trading
  • Significant experience (8+years PQE) in a similar role, preferably with an international aircraft leasing company or law firm
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain relationships with counterparties around the globe
  • Self-motivated, flexible, commercial acumen with the ability to manage internal deal teams and transactions, work independently and as part of an international legal team
  • Available to travel globally as required
