Position Title: Transaction Legal Director
Location: Dublin
Job Information (incl. essential functions): Reporting to the SVP Transaction Legal – Team Lead, the Transaction Legal Director will be assisting in negotiating and documenting contracts relating to aircraft leasing, trading, and financing with airline customers, financiers, investors, trading counterparties and other participants in the aviation finance industry. The Transaction Legal Director will manage the execution of these transactions, ensuring that all transaction documents comply with all relevant internal approvals and policies of the Company and to manage the execution of transactions.
Core Responsibilities:
- Managing transactions from Letter of Intent to contract execution.
- Ensure all documentation is completed to meet deadlines and in accordance with internal approvals and guidelines.
- Customer facing role in contract negotiations with airlines, financiers, trading counterparties, manufacturers, and maintenance providers, etc.
- Lead deal teams to coordinate input from other internal teams (commercial, technical, finance, trading, and risk) and external advisors into transaction negotiation and documentation. The role includes leading the drafting of documentation for transactions managed in house.
- Assist in managing airline defaults, aircraft repossessions, dispute resolution and litigation matters.
- Update company legal templates and processes and procedures.
Role Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in law or related discipline and preferably a qualified lawyer in a common law jurisdiction.
- Strong understanding of aviation leasing with a minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build and maintain relationships with counterparties around the globe.
- Self-motivated, flexible, commercial acumen with the ability to manage internal deal teams and transactions, work independently and as part of an international legal team.
- Available to travel as required.
